Structural analysis

Structural analysis performed by EC Engineering involves Finite Element Analysis and handbook methods. Our analysis include static linear analysis for balanced models and for more advanced we use nonlinear analysis with contact problems, nonlinear materials (steel, rubber, plastic) and loads (varying boundary conditions). We perform detailed analysis for rail, automotive, aerospace and consumer industries.

Fatigue analysis is one of our primary tools. With FEA and handbook methods we evaluate fatigue life for static and dynamic loads (vibration fatigue).

As additional tools we use Excel (Visual Basic) and Matlab for pre- and postprocessing of complex data.

Structural dynamics

Dynamic behavior of structures is a key factor in various industries. EC Engineering performs calculations of normal modes, mode shapes and model responses for excitations in time and frequency domain. As most of structures work under different loads and boundary conditions, we use very often static analysis as a preload step.

Optimization

Optimization is one of key process indesign stage of each product. With special solutions and basing on experience we help to minimize structural weight and find optimum shape for static and dynamic loads. Stochastic analysis help us evaluate influence of particular model propertis or loads on our structure behavior.

Explicit analysis

Explicit solvers can handle calculation of dynamic response of models for high-speed impacts. In rail industry we use it for crashes, in other industries it can be shots, explosions, comples contact problms with material failure, drop of electronic devices.

 CFD

Aerodynamic simulation of vehicles is basic step when optimazing external shape for dynamic resistance. EC Engineering simulates also fluid flow in heat exchanger and many other devices, mostly for energetic industry. Using CFD software we can also optimize ventilation systems in vehicles.

Analysis of the manufacturing processes 

Simufact is a new software that has replaced well known MSC.SuperForge and MSC.SuperForm. Simulation of manufacturing processes is necessary to optimize production process and avoid prototyping. With this software we can simulate forging, rolling, extrusion, drawing, sheet metal forming, bending, cooling and trimmimng processes.

MultiBody 

Most of our simulations start with MultiBody analysis. MSC.Adams specialized solutions help us to estimate various parameters of rail vehicles (spring values, forces between cars) and different mechanism. With new capabilities including flexible bodies we can permorm more realistic models combining MultiBody and FEA.
